Car accident risk increased by faulty car parts

Car manufacturers have a responsibility to protect consumers from unnecessary harm. This is particularly true when it comes to ensuring that all car parts are functioning as intended. Recently, drivers learned of a major recall from Hyundai due to a problem with the brake switch, which may lead to a higher chance of a car accident.

West Virginia readers will note that this is not the first time that the manufacturer has had problems with the brakes in certain models of its vehicles. Since 2009, this is the third time that Hyundai has recalled vehicles, with the most current recall pertaining to 2011 and 2012 Sonatas. Hyundai currently states that no one has been harmed due to the faulty brake switch and claims to have been alerted to the problem by to a high volume of warranty claims.

Faulty car parts place drivers at a higher risk for car accidents. With this particular issue, a vehicle with the faulty brake parts may roll or move, even if the car is not in motion at the time. Often, victims of accidents related to faulty car parts may not realize that these issues played a role in the incidents or that they have valid claims for financial compensation.

Victims of the negligent or reckless behavior of others may seek financial compensation for their pain and suffering. A personal injury claim after a car accident can help recover financial expenses related to the incident, including medical bills. It is often worthwhile to explore legal options by seeking the opinion of a West Virginia lawyer.
